Ο Αγροτικός Οινοποιητικός Συνεταιρισμός Λήμνου – Η Ένωση, με έτος ίδρυσης το 1937, αποτελεί τη φυσική και νομική συνέχεια της Ένωσης Αγροτικών Συνεταιρισμών Λήμνου, υπό την αιγίδα της οποίας δραστηριοποιούνταν όλοι οι αγροτικοί συνεταιρισμοί της Λήμνου. Λειτουργώντας υπό το brand name Limnos Wines και έχοντας ως πρώτες ύλες, την ερυθρή ποικιλία του Λημνιού και τη λευκή ποικιλία του Μοσχάτου Αλεξανδρείας, ο Συνεταιρισμός συνεχίζει την αρχαία παράδοση του νησιού στην παραγωγή εκλεκτού οίνου. Η μοναδικότητα των ποικιλιών, το μικροκλίμα του νησιού αλλά και τα εύφορα ηφαιστιογενή εδάφη της Λήμνου, δίνουν ξηρά αλλά και γλυκά κρασιά Προστατευόμενης Ονομασίας Προέλευσης (Π.Ο.Π.)
Το ιδιόκτητο οινοποιείο του Αγροτικού Συνεταιρισμού καλύπτει συνολική επιφάνεια 3500 m² και βρίσκεται στη Μύρινα Λήμνου, σε μια έκταση 10 στρεμμάτων στο Λιμάνι Αγίου Νικολάου. Οι προσεγμένοι αμπελώνες των παραγωγών μελών του Συνεταιρισμού καλύπτουν πάνω από 3.500 στρέμματα σε όλο το νησί, ενώ η μικρή απόδοση των 700 κιλών εξασφαλίζει την άριστη ποιότητα της πρώτης ύλης.
Αρχή, βάση και συνέχεια του Συνεταιρισμού, είναι οι παραγωγοί που τον αποτελούν. Παραγωγοί γεωργοί, κτηνοτρόφοι, μεταποιητές, που στην πλειονότητά τους ασχολούνται αποκλειστικά με τη γη, διατηρώντας το χαρακτήρα των τοπικών ποικιλιών, συνδυάζοντας τις παραδοσιακές αγροτικές πρακτικές με σύγχρονες μεθόδους φροντίδας των καλλιεργειών και των αμπελιών. Απορροφώντας την πρώτη ύλη από τους παραγωγούς, ο Αγροτικός Οινοποιητικός Συνεταιρισμός Λήμνου, υποστηρίζει το εισόδημά τους και τους ενθαρρύνει έμπρακτα να μην εγκαταλείψουν τη Λημνία γη που φροντίζουν και νοιάζονται.
Με ένα ιδιαίτερα μεγάλο δίκτυο συνεργατών και πάνω από 450 ενεργούς αμπελοκαλλιεργητές –μέλη του Συνεταιρισμού, τα Limnos Wines αποτελούν παραδοσιακά τα κρασιά-ταυτότητα του τόπου μας, με το κοινό να τα αναζητά ονομαστικά. Ετικέτες όπως το ΛΗΜΝΟΣ Λευκό Ξηρό ΠΟΠ, το ΑΡΩΜΑ ΛΗΜΝΟΥ Λευκό ξηρό Βιολογικό ΠΟΠ και ΜΟΣΧΑΤΟΣ ΛΗΜΝΟΥ Λευκό Γλυκό ΠΟΠ, έχουν παρουσία στην ελληνική αγορά οίνου άνω των 25 ετών ενώ νέα καινοτόμα προϊόντα, όπως η συσκευασία pouch, έχουν αποσπάσει εξαιρετικές κριτικές κι έχουν ήδη αποκτήσει το δικό τους κοινό.
Η ποιότητα των κρασιών μας επιβεβαιώνεται και από τις βραβεύσεις σε διεθνείς διαγωνισμούς οίνου (Alliances du Monde® International Wine & Barrel Competition, Διεθνής Διαγωνισμός Οίνου και Αποσταγμάτων Θεσσαλονίκης κλπ). Ταυτόχρονα, το rebranding project που εφαρμόζεται στο Συνεταιρισμό τα τελευταία 2 χρόνια έχει βελτιώσει σημαντικά την εικόνα των Limnos Wines συνολικά, με τις ετικέτες των προϊόντων μας να βραβεύονται σε διαγωνισμούς design & packaging. - Λιμάνι Αγ. The Agricultural and Vinicultural Cooperative of Limnos, known in a single word as “Enosi” (the Union), was established in 1937 and is the natural and legal continuity of the up to 2012, Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Lemnos, under the auspices of which were active all the agricultural cooperatives of Lemnos island. Operating under the brand name Limnos Wines and having available as starting materials the red variety of Limnio, named after the island and grown in the area since antiquity, and the well known Muscat of Alexandria, the Cooperative continues the ancient tradition of the island in the production of fine wine. The uniqueness of the varieties, the microclimate of the island and the fertile volcanic soils of Lemnos, give dry and sweet wines of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO)
The privately owned winery of the Cooperative covers a total area of 3500 m² and is located in Myrina, Lemnos, in an area of 10 acres in the port of Agios Nikolaos.The meticulously vineyards of the producers members of the Cooperative, cover more than 3,500 acres around the island, while the low yield of 700 kg ensures the excellent quality of the grapes and more over of the wine produced. Starting point, base and continuity of the Cooperative, are its members. Farmers, breeders and agro-industry professionals, most of which work exclusively on the land and for the land, maintaining the character of the local varieties, by combining traditional agricultural practices with modern methods of care for both crops and vineyards. By utilizing the raw material from the producers, the Cooperative constantly supports their income and encourages them to stay in the island and to keep caring about the land of Lemnos.
With a particularly large network of collaborators and more than 450 active viticulturalists - members of the Cooperative, Limnos Wines are traditionally the wines-identity of our place. Labels such as LIMNOS , AROMA LIMNOU and MOSCHATOS LIMNOU have been present in the Greek wine market for more than 25 years while new innovative products,such as pouch packaging, have received excellent reviews and have already acquired their own audience.
The quality of our wines is confirmed by the awards recieved in international wine competitions (Alliances du Monde® International Wine & Barrel Competition, International Wine and Spirits Competition of Thessaloniki etc). At the same time, the rebranding project implemented in the Cooperative over the past 2 years has significantly improved the image of Limnos Wines, with the labels of our products being awarded with several prizes in design & packaging competitions. - Port of Agios Nikolaos
